About Cynthia Hochswender

Cynthia Hochswender brings unparalleled knowledge of Litchfield County to her work as a real estate agent, thanks in part to an innate interest in the world around her and also to a decades-long career as a journalist. A former resident of Manhattan, Cynthia worked for many years at home design magazines, and brings her love of interiors and knowledge of renovation to her work with clients who are seeking a new home— offering invaluable insights into what it might take to turn a property into a dream home. Working with sellers, she can offer guidance on how to make a property look its best so it will attract the most interest. 

Although she lives in Litchfield County, Cynthia travels throughout Connecticut and is familiar with towns through the north, west, and center of the state. She has worked with retirees, young couples, young singles, and young families, and understands the diverse needs of different lifestyles. 

She also understands the importance of listening; of breaking complicated problems into smaller, more manageable steps; of following through and checking facts and documents. Her goal is to seamlessly guide her clients through what can be a difficult process, and to smooth out the edges along the way.

A native of Chicago, and a graduate of Pomona College in Southern California, Cynthia has lived in Connecticut part-time since 1993 and full-time since 1999. Much of her social life revolves around sports (tennis, swimming, yoga, Pilates, figure skating); and entertaining at home, with meals that feature fresh ingredients from area farms. An English major with a French minor, she reads in both languages and especially enjoys Golden Age detective tales.
