Brooklyn Heights Evening Guide

Brooklyn Heights Evening Guide

Golden hour on the East River and perfectly crafted cocktails - there's nothing like an evening out in Brooklyn Heights whether it's date night or a family outing.

Growing up on a Kibbutz in Israel, I loved watching American movies shot in this picturesque neighborhood, with its gorgeous brownstones and Manhattan's skyline as a backdrop. I dreamed that I'd someday be the one walking the Promenade with coffee taking an important phone call, or going for a run with the cityscape behind me.

After moving to NYC in 2006, I made it my goal to own a home in this beautiful and historic community. Now with kids in PS8 and amazing neighbors in our co-op on Pierrepont Street, the only thing we find ourselves complaining about is the move trailers taking up our parking spots (but only occasionally)!

Here are some of my favorite places to end the day here in Brooklyn Heights.

Felice • Classic Italian cuisine inspired by the Tuscan villages. Great spot for dinner or drinks at the bar. Note they don’t have a proper kid’s menu or portions, so it might be a good idea to check with your little ones if they like the menu items.

River Deli • This Sardinian-Italian spot is an ideal place to spend a cold night huddled at the bar, drinking negronis and eating lasagna, wondering if the person sitting by the door is a familiar face from the neighborhood or the latest hit TV show. Maybe both?

Clover Hill • With an ever-changing menu and locally sourced fresh ingredients, this restaurant is worth the experience. I will be back for the a-la-carte weekend brunch!

Pilot • Step aboard one of America’s most prized wooden schooners for cocktails, oysters, and summer fare with a remarkable view of the harbor.

Ingas Bar • While many restaurant bars function as a waiting rooms, Inga’s has turned theirs into a local hangout. Whether you are meeting a friend for drinks or dinner, this restaurant brings a lively vibe to our quiet neighborhood.

Mad for Chicken • New go-to restaurant for Korean fried chicken, serving wings, drumsticks, and boneless chicken breasts in flavors like soy and spicy garlic, giving you more than enough options to change up your order upon every visit.

Dellarocco’s Pizza • A wonderful place for dinner or takeout that offers authentic wood-fired, brick-oven pizza. Neighbor Tip: all pizzas can be ordered as gluten-free!

Noodle Pudding • A historically famous, cash-only establishment known for its lasagna bolognese. I’m only slightly exaggerating when I say it’s as large and dense as a car battery…

Bevacco • An underrated and amazing restaurant upholding the European tradition of all-day service. Offering delicious food and drink selections, it’s the perfect place to indulge in lively conversations with friends.

Brooklyn BBQ • Unique new fast-casual spin on classic American barbeque. Enjoy the tasty spread in the quaint beer garden complete with speakeasy-inspired cocktails.
